As I return his gaze, my heart seems to stop and time slows to a screeching halt. There’s nothing else that he can do to save me. The only chance I have now is to trust that these researchers in their government funded laboratories have discovered some miracle drug that might give me my life back. I lean back into my pillows clutching the black and gold fleece Purdue blanket my eight year old niece, Shay, made me when my hospital stays increased two weeks instead of days. Touching the soft fleece helps my rapid heartbeat slow down and allows my mind to consider the options. I close my eyes and consider what I have to gain if I could through with the drug trials. It could help me lead a normal life if it works or it could take away the quality of life in the time I have left.  I know deep down I want to live and this trial could mean everything in my battle. After what seems like hours, even though it was only a few minutes in reality, I open my eyes and look for my parents. They are both sitting in the blue plastic covered recliners in my room holding each other’s hands with their foreheads pressed together in what I am assuming is prayer.  They hear the plastic move on my hospital bed as I shift trying to make myself as comfortable as I can with all the tubes coming out of me and they turn their faces towards me. The look on my mother’s face tells me that they know I’m about to make the decision that will forever change our family. A decision that I don’t even think they would have the strength to make on my behalf. I turn my eyes to Dr. Bob, who is still sitting on the edge of my bed waiting for my decision. It takes me a few seconds to realize that I hold the keys to my life in what I’m about to say. As I open my lips the tears finally begin to flow.
I utter quietly as I wipe away my tears, “I want to do the trial. Where do I sign?”

Avelyn Paige is a born and raised Indiana girl. She may be a
Hoosier by birth, but she’s a Boilermaker by choice! Avelyn lives in rural Indiana with her pastor husband, 2 spoiled cats, and one very odd looking dog.  She’s an oncology research scientist by day and a writer and book review blogger by night. She enjoys reading anything she can get her hands, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Never intending on ever writing her own book, the idea behind the Damaged series came to her on a drive to work early one morning thinking about her father who’d recently passed away. His strength during his cancer and rare blood disease battle inspired Avelyn to do something she’s never thought about before. She’s excited to see where this wild ride takes her.

Compromise is a word Annabelle Macon knows well. Sacrifices at home, in college and with her career, have all given her the tools to be the person she is. Now it seems she must also make concessions for her long-time love, Jackson Storme.

Six months into their relationship, and he’s already making unrealistic demands. With distance putting that much more of a strain on their relationship, how are the two ever going to manage?

Old insecurities have a way of resurfacing, making Anna feel less than suitable for someone like Jackson. She’s worked hard to get to where she is now. Her life and her work are clashing, making matters worse. Bringing a whole new meaning to work/life balance. But Anna knows that with a little give and take everything will fall into place, regardless of the obstacles that may stand in her way.

“When are you coming home?”
Sweet tea and long, lazy days filled with intimacy and sex. It’s what Jackson’s voice makes me long for. Carefree days spent in his big bed making love and binge watching The Walking Dead, and Helix. Eating and making love well into the night until we’re so exhausted, our bodies fall into a deep sleep. Beautiful days turned into hot sweaty nights. Jackson’s made the past several months wonderful in a way I can’t explain.
“Baby, I’ll be back soon.” The longing clear in my voice as I respond.
His growl over the phone makes me shiver.
“Anna.” I can tell by his voice he’s frustrated. It drops lower. Strained.
My body is going into withdrawals and when the sound dips low, it’s more growl than anything else. My stomach pitches into free fall. My breath stutters and no matter how many times I tell myself I’m city-chic, I always give in to my southern sigh.
“One more week.” I whisper into the phone. My voice’s not strong enough to handle all that is Jackson and his crooning words.
“Promise me I’ll be dining on your sweet body by Sunday.”
It's exactly seven days from today.
“Sunday Jackson.”

“Good girl. I’ll expect a call tomorrow Anna.”

One of Tigris’ fondest memories, was in the sixth grade,
when her teacher read her story, “The Case of The Missing Pepperoni”, out loud
to the class. It was then she decided she wanted to be a writer when she grew
up. But like all childhood dreams, reality has a way of crashing in and
disrupting plans. But her imagination and the voices inside her head never
stopped talking. Every dream she could remember was jotted down in her dream
journals.
When she’s not writing Tigris marvel’s at life’s gifts. She
likes to take pictures of beautiful things. She openly admits that what she may
find beautiful another person might not, and she’s perfectly okay with that.
She enjoys her music and doesn’t leave home without it. Long pillow
conversations with LL about nonsensical things, and hanging out with her boys,
when they deem her “cool enough.”

Tigris is a military brat who’s done her fair share of
travelling, thanks to her Army father. She’s married to the infamous LL and has
three boys. She currently resides in Houston and is actively seeking a
book-buddy for the end of the world.

The No Asshole Rule (Rule Series #1) by Ashley Erin - Release Blitz

Title: The No Asshole Rule
Series: The Rule Series #1
Author: Ashley Erin
Genre: NA Romance
Release Date: May 19, 2015

Andie has one rule she lives by, no assholes. She doesn’t befriend them and she certainly doesn’t date them. Upon transferring to Parkland University, she is irritated to discover her neighbor is not only an asshole, but an attractive one that her body and mind can’t seem to ignore. Can Andie let go of the one rule that safeguards her heart?

Lucas doesn’t date. Ever. At least not anymore but the sexy, distant woman across the hall intrigues him and the draw is more than he can resist. Will he like what he finds hidden deep inside her wounded soul?

They both fight to keep their rules, but the pull is irresistible. As Andie struggles with the demons from her past, old wounds open. Both Lucas and Andie will need to decide what is worth fighting for.

Some rules are meant to be broken. Are they up for the challenge?

Sighing, I run my hands down my face as I open the door and step out. Instead of my door across the hallway filling my vision, Lucas stands before me in a tight blue t-shirt. We are less than a foot apart, if I lifted my hands they would brush against his chest. Breathing in deeply to settle the pounding of my heart, I almost gasp as his soft cologne and a hint of sweat stirs up butterflies in my stomach. He has this magnetism, a power that draws me in and I don’t like how vulnerable I feel.

Lucas clears his throat as his eyes scan over my body and I remember I’m only in a towel. Before he can say anything, I bolt around him and slam my door.
